I was originally a lawyer but re-trained at the KLC School of Design in London. For 10 years I have worked on projects in France and UK and more recently on a new online design concept. I paint and have attended life drawing classes over many years at The Royal College of Art in London and the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford, developing a keen eye for colour, proportion and design. I think it is important to respect an existing building and to reflect the client’s world with authenticity whether by incorporating art work which they enjoy or old or inherited pieces of furniture. I don’t subscribe to a transient throw- away culture. Designing a home is an intuitive, thought intensive process which should result in a balanced, functional and above all pleasing environment. It should also be an exciting and fun process. I love thinking about interiors, making them work and creating an attractive environment and in many ways it is still answering the ‘brief’ for my clients which inspires me.
